there are things even a mastercard can’t buy…

Perhaps the worst part about earning very much money is not having enough time to enjoy using it. A close family friend has this situation. He spent half of his life working as an engineer in a submarine. That’s one of the highest paying jobs on earth. He gets to have very nice benefits like travel perks, medical and life insurance, housing, and even lifetime scholarships for his children (not to mention monetary bonuses). But there’s a catch to every high paying job… the health hazards.

After his early retirement, he was diagnosed to have mesothelomia – a kind of cancer caused by asbestos exposure. You see, submarines have engine parts which need to be insulated to keep them from heating up. This insulation is made from asbestos which is radioactive and has already been proven to cause lung cancer. So that’s what happened. Now his only hope is the Mesothelioma treatment regularly administered to him. It’s really sad that one may have all the riches in the world but it still is not enough to buy everything (even if you have a mastercard).
