On transferring loyalty and getting freebies
My mobile postpaid plan has been under my mom’s name since it was activated. You see, I got that plan after I graduated from college, but at that time, I didn’t have one of the requirements to avail of it under my name – a proof of billing.
I’ve been meaning to have that phone line transferred to my name not only for formality’s sake but for tax shield purposes as well – I can only use receipts that are billed under my name for tax shield. However, the transfer of billing, even from mother to daughter, wasn’t allowed until the 2nd quarter of 2009.
Back then when I inquired, they said if I wanted to retain my current mobile number and have it placed under my name, they’ll have to cut the line and make me wait for six months to reactivate it to a different user – me. I happen to love my mobile number since my entire birth date is there, so I decided to just continue paying under my mom’s name. Imagine the hassle and confusion to my contacts if I got a new mobile number for six months and revert back to my current number.
Anyway, as soon as I learned that the transferring of billing for that mobile network is now possible without having to have your phone line cut, I immediately availed of it… plus the two year rebate and one of the free ipods which they’re giving away to loyal customers of more than two years like me. ^_^
I made sure to emphasize on the transferring of loyalty as well on my mom’s letter of transfer request so I could get those freebies. tee hee 0:p
