St. Thomas

Author: wisteria
06 7th, 2008

I’ve been looking in the internet for new places to be interested in traveling. You can say that I have been previously addicted to Hawaii. The idea of seeing myself wear a grass skirt was kind of fascinating, I admit. Well, now I’m interested to go to St. Thomas island. This island contains a wide variety of St. Thomas villa rentals and the area is pretty cool, you see. The ambiance is wonderful, you can see it thru the photos in the world wide web.
If you’re interested as well or if you’ve actually been there, kindly recommend some villas or hotels to me by posting a comment or suggestion in this blog post. It is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Jobs at Boston

Traveling to Boston has also been of my interest. I have seen that the internet offers a wide variety of jobs to choose from in Boston. I have been trying to make Boston resumes to submit to these websites that provide jobs but I’m still quite busy with my work here so I guess I’ll do it when I have free time.
If you’re exactly like me, as in willing to look for jobs in Boston since you want to migrate or you already live there, there are a lot of websites in the internet that provide a list of job opportunities available in that area. All you have to do is to be persistent in looking for them. Good luck!

a travel to italy

Today one of my friends told me about her plan to go to Naples, Italy by the end of this month. My friend told me that it would only be for a short vacation, about one week at the most. I’m really happy for her because I know it has long been her dream to travel to Italy. However, I just didn’t expect it would be this soon!

My friend loves pizza and pasta so much, and she’s so excited to be going to the place that produces the best pizza and pasta in the world. By the way, she did invite me to go with her to Italy. Though I would very much love to accompany her, I don’t think I can afford it. In addition to my savings, I still would have to get a cash advance loan to have sufficient money for the trip. Well, maybe next time…

There’s an upcoming three-day weekend next month and since it’s the beach season in the tropical countries, I have been planning to spend it lying on the white sands of Misibis, Albay, Bicol Philippines. As described in one of the websites I saw:

Misibis Residential Resort is a 20-hectare beachfront within a prime enclave, nestling close to the Pacific Ocean. It boasts of a wide stretch of white clean beach, easily reached in 45 minutes from Legazpi City Airport through a scenic 5-minute 3-km sea journey over Sula Channel.

Since it is a privileged and private island world and is not yet known to a lot of tourists, for someone like me who just wants to relax and meditate at the beach, Misibis is haven.
My only problem right now is on how to clear my back acne asap. I tend to have breakouts whenever I’m really stressed *sigh*. Jane, my dermatologist recommended an acne wash, and assured me that my back will become so enticing that it might even beguile people to just stare at it and not bother looking at my front 0:D We’ll see…

Today our general manager announced that we would have a week-long planning workshop. Since they got a big budget for the said activity, they decided on London as venue. Our department head reminded us that as much as possible, we should have a travel insurance ready. My officemate said she has a travel health insurance, which makes me wonder if it is the same thing. I remember her saying that her insurance keeps her protected in case she gets sick or has some grave medical condition while traveling.

For me, I think I’ll just get insured if I’ll be traveling abroad. Then I won’t have to worry too much about getting medical attention and paying for medical bills in such unfamiliar surroundings.

BADDICT (Badminton Addict)

I have been playing badminton since I was a teen and I can say that it has many advantages! First, you get to keep your body in shape while having fun, and second is you get to meet and greet a lot of people. If you are pretty lucky, then you also get to meet big artists and Hollywood celebrities.

I met a very interesting person in one of our badminton games - he was a san francisco estate attorney and we talked about a lot of things. He was actually the one who introduced me to probate loans. Talking to him enlightened me about probating last will and testaments and many others. I thought estate attorneys only know about estate affairs, but he proved me wrong!

So don’t think about badminton as boring, because I can most definitely go on all day debating with you to prove that you are very wrong!

Since I started working last 2004, the Asian Cruise has been on my list of “must save up for”. Unfortunately, I still don’t have enough money to be on an Asian Cruise. To cap it off, I don’t want to go on an Asian Cruise alone… That would be very dismal.

Quite determined to make my dream into reality, I decided to do some canvassing and came across the Rhapsody of the Seas – one of the cruise ships of royal caribbean. Its 5 Night Southeast Asia cruise is simply perfect with these as its “Ports of Call”: Hong Kong, China | Okinawa, Japan | Keelung (Taipei), Taiwan | Kao-Hsiung, Taiwan.
Somebody please help me go aboard that ship! I’m accepting donations and sponsorship, if you must know. Hehehe.

on calculating your holidays

I’m flabbergasted. There’s actually an international point system vacation club - Buena Viva Exeter. That is, all you have to do is buy points depending on the number of years you expect to be traveling, the nights you generally spend in a hotel, how much you spend per night in each hotel, the number of people you generally travel with and voila – you’ll get to avail of the widest possible range of holidays in five different continents! They even have a Holiday Calculator to help you answer those questions. Amazing.

Their services pretty much includes anything else you will need when traveling - from efficient bookings and travel insurance, to flights, ferry crossings, car hire, airport parking and even cruises. To cap it off, you not only get to unwind in top class international resorts, your points will even be re-allocated to you each year until 2047!

Dang. I ought to be saving up for cool packages and memberships like this and save myself from the hassle of worrying over my next destination for the next x years.

To celebrate Anne’s successful thesis defense today, my mom gave her two tickets to Madrid, a great city of monuments, to have more insights about the Spanish art. Her thesis is basically about the relativism in the art of a particular country.

Excited about the trip, Anne already created a list of destinations and of course, started booking in one of the hotels in Madrid which she selected based from some hotel updates. Her main target places are the “Golden Triangle” which consists of The Prado (considered as the most famous Madrid art gallery which houses an extensive collection of works from the 12th - 19th centuries), the Reina Sofia (hosts contemporary artworks and a lot of Picasso pieces including Guernica), and Thyssen-Bornemisza (contains paintings ranging from Durero, Titian, Goya, Degas, Renoir, to Kandinsky or Rothko, that are hailed as the best private collection of 13th to 20th century art).

She asked me to join her there especially since she knows I’m willing to split the Madrid lodging fee with her. Unfortunately, I have important scheduled meetings during her trip. I asked her to just take several pictures and buy some souvenirs for me.

Who said California is just a year-round travel destination with a weather that will please everyone? For those interested in studying abroad or sending their kids to the best schools, California offers three unique systems of public postsecondary education: University of California (considered one of the world’s finest public university systems), California State University (the largest university system in the United States), and The California Community Colleges system (composed of 109 colleges).

Moreover, California is also home to notable private universities such as Stanford University and the University of Southern California. To cap it off, for those interested in a career in the culinary arts, in pastry arts and baking, or hospitality and restaurant management, you can get a quality culinary arts education and prestigious Le Cordon Bleu diploma at California School of Culinary Arts (more info at http://csca.edu/).

So next time you hear California, I hope you also associate it with high-end education.
