Finally printing my pictures
Author: admin
I bought my DSLR three years ago. It is a Nikon D60 and I always take it wherever I went. To this date have more than 50 gigabytes of digital photos. However I have not really printed any of them yet. I only post them on flicker or in my blog. I saw this online printing service one time and I thought that now is the perfect time to print my pictures. I pan to place them in beautiful frames and hang them around the house.
I remember when people used the film cameras. Back then all pictures when printed on paper. But now, since everything is digital, pictures are only stored and not viewed. I thought of using a digital frame once but I cannot find anything bigger than 10 inches. I prefer showing my pics on large 30 inch frames. After all, that is why I chose the DSLR.
Anyhow, I’ll be selecting pictures to print. 50 gig to of choices is certainly a big task to do. I don’t think the weekend is enough.

Search Engine Optimization
Author: admin
Way back when I was still in college, I had no idea what search engine optimization was. It was my first job offer that introduced me to the wonders of seo.
But what is SEO?
According to wikipedia, Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via the “natural” or un-paid (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results.
Most people only look through the first three pages of thousands of websites when they search from something. With the help of search engine optimization, you can actually help put your website on the top of the list when searching a certain keyword.
I recently came across a product called seo link vine and the idea of recruiting websites and amassing a large article network for link building is quite promising.
With the current pace of the development of technology, I’m sure this will not be the only bright idea that people come up with regarding search engine optimization.
Back pain

When I was in grade school we were forced to bring our books home and carry them back to school daily because they thought that if we brought our books home that children would actually opt to read them over games like Barbie dolls and Legos.
Imagine that, nine year old me carrying ten books everyday to school.
This heavy load slowly introduced scoliosis to my life. My mom noticed my posture– it started getting worse as the years went by. She had my back checked and the x ray confirmed that I have mild scoliosis.
I started getting therapies here and there. One type of therapy even told me to hang by a monkey bar for thirty minutes and just hold on to it.
I know it would be difficult if not impossible to bring my spinal column to the way it was before, but I’m not losing hope in the various massage therapy programs that the therapeutic world has to offer. I’m sure someone will come up with an easy solution soon enough, and if that doesn’t happen I’ll have to make it happen myself.
Protect Your Identity Now

I have heard recently that identity theft is quite abundant these days, even two of my friends have already been victims of this. It’s sad, really, but we need to take safety precautions from this ourselves if we don’t want to experience the same thing.
One of the most common solutions for this would be rfid blocking wallets. RFID stands for radio frequency identification and this can be found in credit cards, passports and identity badges. Most of these things can be found in wallets, so people actually are giving away their identity without knowing it!
So if you don’t have enough money to buy the wallets with built in rfid blocking technology, I suggest making an improvised one with aluminum foil to help reduce your card’s signal strength.
A little prevention goes a long way. Don’t be like the fools who only learn from their own experiences.. Learn from everyone else who fell prey to this misfortune.
Backing Up Your Progress

I have a lot of blogs and other informational websites that I manage, not to mention the various data that I save online for work purposes, but there’s a slight problem with this. Sometimes, there are unexpected server crashes that result to loss of data.
This is where data backup service comes in handy. Backing up your data only takes a few minutes, but it saves you hours of starting over!
It saved me and my team a lot of time. All the other teams in our company had to stay over time and start over, while my team mates and I went out to celebrate because we didn’t have anything to do for the rest of the week.
Like the old saying goes, “Prevention is surely better than cure”, and I can attest to that.
Height Is Might

When I was young, I used to be one of the puny girls who always sat in front because everyone else blocked our view if we sat in the middle or the back seats. This worried my mom, as our whole family consists of tall people.
I got teased at a lot by my relatives because of this, and my mom wanted it to stop. She looked for human growth hormones to help me grow, and with all the products she made me use, on my third year of high school, I had to change my uniform size three times because I grew tall so fast. Even my classmates were surprised.
From then on I wasn’t forced to sit in front any longer, and I can say that it felt nice knowing that the teacher won’t be able to see you so easily when you steal naps in the middle of boring classes, haha!
Being tall sure has its perks.
Looking for retailers

I just got home from a week long tour in Hongkong. Man that was the best trip yet. It is the first time that I exceeded my baggage limit because I pretty much bought everything there. Actually, I got some cool stuff I am planning to sell. I already have a stall in the department store, care of my aunt. All I need now is someone I could trust who will be willing to do retail jobs. Finding someone to sell for me is quite hard actually. If only I could find someone then I would not have this sort of problem.
Hmm… I wonder if I can find someone from abroad. I see a lot of Asians coming here to work. I also heard that not only do they work well, they also are honest and trustworthy. Now if only I could meet someone who could meet my requirements. Nothing major, just able to communicate well with customers will be right for the job.
Finally, my movie room

Audio enthusiasts spend a lot of time reviewing a product before they actually buy them. And frankly, sometimes it just is too long. Take my friend for instance. He works as an acoustic engineer in Sony Recording. I asked him a favor to help me find the perfect home audio speakers for my apartment. You see I have always dreamed of having a movie room at home. So now that my housemate left, I have a spare room to convert to a movie room.
At first I thought that I could just stick an LCD to a wall and darken the room and it will become a home theater, but then when I watch a movie, it still feels watching at home (you get it right?). I guess I just want the “movie house” ambience for my movie room. And so the story was I consulted my friend who is now helping me set it up. He suggested that I get quality speakers because the sound really creates the ambiance. However it felt kind of frustrating shopping witih him. It takes him around and hour to test each sound system and I could almost feel that the sales people are already pissed off.
After a few shops, I gave up. I told him that we will just buy the speakers some other time because something came up at work. When he left, I got myself the Bose system that he tested last. I installed it at home, and all I could say is… IT ROCKS. What up!
Shopping for stuff!

Since my boss trusts my taste in furniture or objects– to be more specific, he always asks me to pick out our office supplies online and order them.
There are two main factors that I consider before buying something and that would be quality and price. If the price is reasonable for the products’ quality, then I buy it. Other factors would be the physical appearance and if it has extra bonuses. I’m a girl after all, and I’m all about the cuteness!
I guess after more than 20 years of buying things, I can say that I know what to buy and what I should avoid. It’s all about priorities, if you prefer this over that. Being fickle minded isn’t really helpful when you’re shopping. You’d end up losing more money than you actually intended to.
Planning ahead

I have always dreamed of going to jet luxury resorts like the very well known “setai 5th ave“. I wanted to experience the lifestyle of the wealthy, even just once in my life.
I have been saving up to be able to do a lot of things in the near future. I just want so many things for myself even though I don’t have the financial resources for it.
This is why I chose to compromise.
I save a little of my financial income for the future, so in time, I get to retire happily from work and just enjoy the remaining days of my life without the stress that it gives.
What do you intend to do in the future, when you retire and decide to take a look back at the life you’ve lived? Are you doing anything to achieve this goal?
