Deadlines lead to stress
Stress leads to exhaustion
Exhaustion leads to depression
Depression leads to… WRINKLES!

Yep that’s right. Having a stressful lifestyle will definitely make you look old. Studies show that stress causes wrinkles and so to avoid wrinkles, we must have a stress-free lifestyle. However a stress-free life is ideal and is almost impossible to have. So the next best thing you can do to look young is to apply a face wrinkle cream regularly.

Choose a brand that is hypoallergenic and contains no alcohol. Better if you get your product from your dermatologist because there are plenty of imitations in the market today. To be sure, buy your products directly from your doctor. This might cost a little more but you can be certain that you are getting what you paid for. Just a tip: Apply the cream at night before you sleep. Just be sure you cleansed your face before applying the cream or else you’ll just create a breeding ground for bacteria.

It’s almost summer in my country! Although I’m quite happy with my current figure right now, I still think I need to get a quick trim on my belly. I want it really flat and sexy so I can wear this gorgeous red bikini I saw in the mall.

It’s a good thing my company tied up with the Bikram Yoga studio near my place. Right now I’m able to attend the 6:30 p.m. yoga classes at least twice a week. This will definitely help me maintain my figure. For the belly problem, my doctor advised me to trim down on salty foods since it causes water retention making my belly look bloated. This one’s going to be really tough. I’m a salt fan after all. I’d choose salty food over desserts at anytime!

Oh well, no pain, no gain. Less salt diet it is!

Last Saturday I had fun playing around with the barcode scanner while my sister picks up things she would like to have for her wedding at the Bridal Registry. From Colorwave Pitcher Blue Dinnerware to the Mattress Pad-Queen Afi Crown Bed and Bath and Tefal Eureka Blu Cookware Set Kitchenware… of course, those are just suggestions to the would-be guests.

Then again, personally, I think having a Bridal Registry is the way to go nowadays; especially if you want to avoid having two or more rice cooker or toaster – it’s every newlywed’s nightmare. Also, knowing that you may be receiving a matching dining set to go with your furniture is definitely something to look forward to when opening the gifts after the wedding, don’t you think?

So, next time you decide to buy a wedding present, check out first if the couple’s listed at the gift registry.

I, together with a bunch of friends, went out on a road trip to the nearest national park to get out of all the stresses from work. We went there early, before the sun came out, and we planned to do jogging first then have breakfast there. It was a very cold foggy morning and we were almost freezing. Good thing the heater is working so the cold was not much of a problem.

We got to the park just in time for sunrise. Some of us did some jogging and running while others started setting up the tents and opening up the weather pack. After jogging, we joined up for breakfast and we grilled some sausages and steaks. It was like an outdoor barbecue party, only it’s like we were one with nature. The great outdoors sure is the best site to do some grilling.

We stayed there until past noon, then we headed back home. It was a fun morning and it’s the first time we did that. We’ll surely do it again soon.

People in our office recently complained about the iced tea tasting like rust. We already tried other brands yet the problem persisted. I did my own investigation to find out the real problem and it turned out that the ice itself tasted like rust.

Many of us may not be aware that those ice making refrigerators have water filters that need to be replaced every few months. This was explained to me by the supplier. So we ordered a brand new filter from the net, part number 4396841.  I even replaced it myself, no sweat. And so the problem was resolved because of my humble efforts.  Actually, at first I thought that the rusty taste was part of the flavor. Hahaa.

On donating old books

When I was in high school, I was a big fan of romance novels and love stories. Instead of watching TV, i read books which are usually from my dad. When i reached senior high, i got a good paying job so i was able to buy all the books i wanted. But the most unforgettable ones I got are from my classmates who sell books. And not just any ordinary books, they sold an entire collection of Mills & Boons for only $20! Imagine that! They’re second hand of course. Now I have a large collection of books, some of which are piled up in the garage because they wont fit my cabinet anymore. Mother suggested that I donate these books to the city library so that newer generations may be able to read them. I was Hesitant at first (too greedy) but after a few moments of thinking, I felt that donating would give me a sense of accomplishment. Something like being able to pass over knowledge to the younger generations.

My friend and I are going to Guimaras on the 19th, “the next Boracay” in the Philippines. We’re both pretty excited about it since we’ve heard so many great stories about it, especially about the diversity of flora and fauna within the area.

Guimaras Mango Trees While browsing, I came across this trivia:

The Guimaras Island is famous for producing the sweetest mangoes in the world. Guimaras mangos are reportedly served at the White House and Buckingham Palace. Guimaras’ largest event of the year is The Manggahan Festival (the Mango Festival).

I’ll definitely try their Mangoes. Hehehe.

We currently don’t have any idea where to stay there though. But we only hope the places we end up with have decent comfort rooms. Preferably with American Standard sinks, shower, and toilet bowl that have hot running water please? My friend would absolutely die without hot running water. It’s like the soul of every accommodation he’s been into. That criterion can be a make or break of his reviews of every accommodation. Seriously.

Anyway, I can’t wait til the 19th! It’s actually going to be my first time to travel with a guy best friend. How cool is that? ^_^

On conserving paper

Recently I received a mail from my credit card company offering me some incentives if I enroll in electronic banking. With this I will not be receiving my statements in the traditional mail. They will just give me an electronic device which I must use in order to log in to my online account to view my latest statement. They are offering lots of perks like discounts and free movie tickets so I guess it’s a good deal. Although this got me thinking, if I still use cash to pay my bills, I still need to print my statements to be shown at the payment counters right? So I must also enroll in online bill payments in my savings bank.

A lot of companies have been implementing similar policies regarding conservation of office supplies especially paper. Nowadays, it’s very easy to print anything because of the shared printers in the networks. Unlike before when you need to wait for your turn just to use the old dot matrix printer. Anyhow, I really think that everyone should take part in conservation all of us can participate in our own little ways.

When puberty hits

My youngest sister who is in her puberty stage started having allergies after eating oysters. At first her back really itched so bad. Then rashes appeared in her upper arms then in her face. We called our family doctor to tell us what to do for first aid. The doctor gave us an anti-allergy drug and so the itching stopped.

A week later my sister had red bumps on her forehead. We thought that it was an after effect of the allergy so we went to the dermatologist for a check-up. It turns out that the red bumps were actually pimples, starting to grow out. The allergic reaction from last week may have triggered the acne breakout. It is also possible that it was another of those puberty stages. At this early stage, the derma suggested a mild facial soap as her acne treatments. If the acne persists after a month, then facial creams may be considered.

For most people, washing their face daily is enough. Then again, they are forgetting that during the day, a lot of factors cause damage to the skin which causes wrinkles, dry skin, and even dark spots. What’s worse is that the harmful UV rays of the sun can have drastic effects on the skin even leading to skin cancer.

To ensure that your skin avoids these horrible state, day creams were invented. Unlike night creams, day creams are often much lighter and allow your skin to breathe. Moreover, with powerful anti-aging ingredients, a good day cream will help fight and reverse the signs of aging on your skin.

When choosing a day cream, do make sure that it has the right amount of SPF to avoid dark spots and it should have UV filters. As for me, I prefer Nivea’s Sensitive Balance Protecting Day Cream since my skin is quite sensitive. It also helps improve my skin’s natural resistance to everyday external stresses.
