Timeless Furniture

When I was about to redecorate our house, I realized how much fondness I had for logs and log furniture. My bed, vanity drawer and my computer desk are all log furniture! My bed is starting to feel like it’s about to give up on me though, it’s been on our family since my mom got married, and that would be about more than 30 years from now.

I think it’s about time I started shopping and looking around for log beds. Do you guys have any specific place to recommend for me to look? I promise I’ll take pictures and post when I’m done redecorating!

I don’t exactly know why I’m so fond of log furniture. I guess it’s because for me, they’re timeless, and they would never get old or out of style. I like sticking with the classics, you know.

Take pictures of your room and post them here! I’d love to see how all of your rooms look like. :)

Body Insecurities

I just discovered something brilliant! If you want to know what it is, click here for eyelash growth products!!

It’s brilliant, really. You know how there are always these certain people that are drawn to women / men with long, curly eyelashes? What happens to those with short eyelashes that seem like they’re not even there? WHAT HAPPENS TO THEIR SELF ESTEEM? WHAT ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE ME?!

Sorry, I have weird self esteem issues sometimes. I find it unfair how women like Angelina Jolie and Jessica Alba exist. THEY MAKE THE REST OF US FEEL SO INFERIOR, DON’T YOU THINK?

Thank god for technology and the brilliant things that people come up with.

What kind of insecurities do you have about your body? Share it with us, maybe the other readers I have already found the solution to that and can help you! Go on, don’t be shy!

My mom used to love gardening. Back in our old house in the military camp, she’d buy a lot of flower pots and plant various types of flowers in them. Our new house has a bigger backyard, but the ground is still not very fertile. I plan on buying fertile land and having our backyard redone so she can start on working on our backyard’s landscape.

I hope she appreciates the gardening gifts that I get her. We used to plant flowers in our yard when I was young, and she’d pick flowers and put them in a vase to display in our living room. They were really beautiful.

I guess you can blame her for my A’s in my Home Economics class! She’s always been so obsessed with keeping the house spic and span. We had this humble little home back then, and she’d get nothing but compliments about it.

I hope to be a good housekeeper as her when I start to have a family of my own. :)

Urban Fashion

As a person who has always been a fashion addict, I can say that urban clothing is something that I would never get tired of. It just gives you this feel of comfort while looking amazingly well.

I have always been fond of high heels but I never really had the courage to wear them. Most of those shoes are just painful and it’s difficult for me to walk without tripping. I knew I would need the heels because I’m not much of a scrawny person myself, so I started to practice.

There’s always the comfort and pleasure that wearing sneakers provide. I find it amazing that nowadays, a lot of comfortable shoes are out, and their designs are as awesome as they are comfortable, as well! I’m quite hesitant to wear the shoes, however, because I feel the designs that I see lately are not too appropriate for my age, but what the heck, right?

What kind of shoes do you like best? Would you rather sacrifice the pain your feet gets for beauty, or would you rather buy the comfortable, “hip hop” shoes instead?

Christmas shopping

One thing I love about the Philippine holiday season is the fact that it lasts quite longer than the usual time that everyone else in the world celebrates it as.

And what else is there to do when the holiday season is up and about in the air than Christmas shopping and dwelling on various sales on shops everywhere?

I have quite the list of things to buy for myself as I have been buying things for everyone for the past several months. Instead of buying things I want I keep finding things that remind me of someone else that needs it.

It feels nice to buy things for people, but it isn’t so bad to think about yourself every once in a while, either.

Acne begone!

I believe I have tried most of acne treatments in the market, and the treatment that I have found most effective so far is the nanocleanse.

I always had trouble since I was young. People teased me of having clusters of acne on the most exposed parts of my face, and I was determined to get rid of them in one way or another.

I tried various creams and pills for years, all to no avail.

On our high school reunion, I saw a friend of mine who lost all her acne, and couldn’t help but ask her what her secret was. She referred me to the product, and voila! Most of my acne has been cleared in just a small amount of time!

All those years and I could have just used nanocleanse..

One month before my sister Anne’s wedding last February, she was fussing about finding wedding accessories that are intricately gorgeous but way too expensive so she can’t afford them. She said those jewelry matches her turquoise studded bracelet (something blue) which she bought in Paris last year (something old) and mom’s wedding tiara (something borrowed). Since it’s going to be the first wedding in my family and I wanted to make sure Anne looks stunning on her wedding day, I asked her to bring me to the jewelry store and show me if the fuss was worth it.

When she pointed the matching turquoise studded necklace and earrings, I found myself chuckling. I saw the exact jewelry in a store near my place and they were on sale at that time! I told my sister that they were indeed expensive, but I’ll give it a thought on whether or not I’ll give those as a gift.

I bought those from the store near my place on my way home and asked them to deliver it to her one week before the wedding day. Before I know it, Anne was gushing over the phone on how happy she is with my gift (something new) and kept thanking me profusely. I laughed and said, “Stop thanking, and just make sure you get enough rest and look gorgeous on your wedding day!”

And yes, Anne IS one of the most gorgeous and happy brides I’ve seen in this lifetime. I’m happy for her. ^_^

On dressing up glam rock

Guess what our office Christmas Party Theme was? It’s glam rock! Of course, it’s a given that there’s a price for the best-dressed male and female for the said event.

At times like these, I get to appreciate my sister Anne a little bit more than usual. Her sense of fashion has helped me gain a lot of admirable head-to-toe glances and even several introductions, I tell you. And that Christmas party was no exception. The price people are vying for is a significant cash price, which I want for myself. So I had Anne conceptualize my outfit for that night. She made me purchase a Michael Kors black leather studded zip gloves and 7 for All Mankind black leather ‘Orion’ tall harness boots to complete my glam rock outfit.

I didn’t win the best-dressed female, but I did get nominated in the top four. ^_^ I don’t mind not winning though because the only reason I didn’t get the first place was because they based it on the loudest hoot by the audience. My team in the office was small compared to others, so it was a given that the one with the bigger team will win – the clothes are just secondary. Anyway, everyone, even my boss and his wife acknowledged that I should have won. To me, that was enough. *curtsy*

Boots over sandals

My sister Anne, the artist in our family, loves dressing me up; “You’re my Barbie Doll!” she often gushes whenever she helps me pick out clothes.

Just recently, Anne saw the sad state of my sandals and told me that I ought to ditch those and start buying boots anyway since it’s already the winter season. I was too lazy at that time to have her drag me all the way to the mall, so we ended up browsing the net for THE perfect pair of boots. That’s how we encountered UGG Bailey Button.

UGG Bailey Button - Sand SheepskinNot only does it look classy, it’s actually made from genuine twin-face sheepskin featuring a soft foam insole covered in sheepskin, and has a molded EVA light and flexible outsole for some serious comfort. Now all I have to do is find if there’s a branch near our area… or maybe I’ll just order online since I’m already surfing… hmmm…
