On muscle supplements

Still wondering how those body builders achieve that figure? Well it is not only because of their patience and determination in going to the gym but because of a little help from supplements. I asked some of my body builder friends and they admit they use certain muscle boosting pills. Supplements with an hgh releaser is ideal for body building. HGH by the way stands for human growth hormones. Naturally, HGH is responsible for cell regeneration and growth. So if you are lifting weights, taking these supplements will help your muscles heal faster. Now I’m just wondering how Human Growth Hormones are extracted and packaged in a pill… hmmm….

Have you ever tried playing the Rockband game in ps3? Well, it was the first time we (me and my friends) tried doing that and the only thing I can say about it is… HELL YEAH! Damn it was so fun. We were invited by Linda to try out her new PS3 that her mother bought for her. We never enjoyed a house party as much as we did last night. All my friends were shouting and jumping around like the foo fighters hehe. I, on the other hand, was just seated at the back - PLAYING THE DRUMS! Wohoooo!

After the exhausting gameplay, we headed straight to the garden. Linda’s Mom was just so hospitable and cool, she even made us grilled burgers. Imagine that… rockband game plus outdoor grilling, what more could you ask for?

I just realized that my sister Anne’s wedding is very near! I already have THE dress – a gold and black haltered dress with 3 roses on the side. Unfortunately, I don’t have THE back for it. That is, I don’t have flawless back, thanks to my back acne. I actually used to have a flawless back until recently. *sigh*

Consequently, out of panic, I finally decided to seek my dermatologist’s help. During the check-up, she asked me a very odd question, “Did you switch your shampoo?” I went, “Huh?” She elaborated, “Shampoo is something most of us use on a daily basis and are sometimes what’s causing back acne. This is because shampoo not only comes into contact with our hair, but also our skin. So if you recently changed your shampoo, try switching to another one.” *Ding!* That’s it! I’ve been using a new shampoo since December – I got it as a gift from our office Christmas party.

My dermatologist furthered that I should avoid shampoo and conditioners that give pearlized look since they usually cause back, chest, and shoulder acne (especially for those with long hair). Who would’ve thought that avoiding those type of hair products are almost like natural remedies for acne?

I’m soooo happy! It was just the shampoo, after all!

Christmas Towing

I’m so glad there are 24 hour towing services even during Christmas! You see, on our way to my Aunt Mel’s house last December 25 for our traditional Christmas dinner, our car broke down. Everyone panicked because we were in the main road when this happened. It’s a good thing we were in a 3-lane road, so the traffic we caused while waiting for help to arrive wasn’t that significant *whew!*

The best thing about the 24 hour towing service is that they got to us really fast! We were able to make it just in time for the Christmas dinner blessing before meal. ^_^

Addicted to you

Insomnia, deep watery eyes, yellowish teeth and unable to concentrate - if you have these symptoms, you might be one of us…

Hello. Recently I discovered that I was taking more Coke into my body than water. It started a month ago when the company bought a Coca-cola bending machine as one of the perks in the office. Since then I had a can of Coke in every meal and snack. I drank coke to boost my concentration during deadlines and to keep me awake during overtime. After a few weeks, my body started to deteriorate. I felt weak, always sleepy, and I had a hard time concentrating. I definitely must do something about this.

I asked a friend who works for a drug rehab on tips to successfully withdraw from coke addiction. She have never really treated anyone addicted with coke before but she said it helps to quit gradually. She advised that I take alternatives to coke like iced tea or lemon juice because she suspected me to be addicted in caffeine.

Although the FDA does not say anything about Coke, it warns us of substance abuse which is as deadly as drug addiction. Coke, like beer, is harmful when we take more than enough.

My friend and I are going to Guimaras on the 19th, “the next Boracay” in the Philippines. We’re both pretty excited about it since we’ve heard so many great stories about it, especially about the diversity of flora and fauna within the area.

Guimaras Mango Trees While browsing, I came across this trivia:

The Guimaras Island is famous for producing the sweetest mangoes in the world. Guimaras mangos are reportedly served at the White House and Buckingham Palace. Guimaras’ largest event of the year is The Manggahan Festival (the Mango Festival).

I’ll definitely try their Mangoes. Hehehe.

We currently don’t have any idea where to stay there though. But we only hope the places we end up with have decent comfort rooms. Preferably with American Standard sinks, shower, and toilet bowl that have hot running water please? My friend would absolutely die without hot running water. It’s like the soul of every accommodation he’s been into. That criterion can be a make or break of his reviews of every accommodation. Seriously.

Anyway, I can’t wait til the 19th! It’s actually going to be my first time to travel with a guy best friend. How cool is that? ^_^

Japan in April 2010

Hanami 2010

Unlike some people whose sole purpose in life is to get thin by taking diet pills, I have been dreaming of learning Nihongo since I was in high school. With that of course, being able to go to Japan is already a given on my list of “must do”.

As Paulo Coelho wrote in The Alchemist, “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” I have been wanting it, with all my heart. And by the looks of it, I am already on my way to achieving it – by April 2010, if all goes well. ^^;

You see, I met my friend Mark last year and he’s been coaching me in Nihongo and giving me text books on how to learn Japanese. There’s also my friend Romar and JC, who’s currently residing in Japan, and both are willing to give me a one week tour plus free accommodation when I have the means (i.e. cash) to be able to go to Japan.

With my friend Mark helping me with my finances as well, I just might be able to make it in time for Hanami (花見?, lit. “flower viewing”) next year. *cross fingers* I can’t wait to post pictures of it here. ^_^ Wish me luck!

“Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all”?

Subconsciously, all or us ask this when we look at our face in the mirror. We all have this natural desire to be beautiful (more than the rest). Sometimes we think of what we used to look like when we were younger, when we were still much prettier. Often, we resort to using beauty creams and doing exercise to bring back that youthful glow that we used to have. But when it doesn’t work, we consult our fairy grand mothers – cosmetic surgeons.

Surgery is effective, although it is very risky (not to mention expensive). This is why surgeons usually let you sign a waiver that tells basically “we have told you the risks you accepted. If you die, it’s not our problem”. Fortunately, there is another breakthrough in medical science – the discovery of human growth hormones a.k.a. HGH.

Not to be too geeky about this stuff, scientists discovered that we age because the body stops producing HGH. So the goal now is try to find a way to make the body release HGH. There are available pills known as hgh releaser in the market already that claims to stimulate the pituitary gland to produce such hormones. It’s somewhat like the “fountain of youth” in a pill. I’m considering these pills instead of surgery but I ought to ask my doctor first. Anyhow, if any of you have already tried using one, feel free to comment.

My younger brother messaged me earlier to tell me that his cellphone got stolen in his own room while he was sleeping. Alarmed, I immediately called him and asked what happened. He said he slept at 3 a.m. after finishing his school paper. He left the lights on so obviously anyone near the fence will see the room clearly. Unfortunately, he placed his phone on the work desk which was near the window so the thief just cut through the window screen and grabbed the phone.

Later on I found out that the thief also stole the BMX bike which was parked in the backyard. Investigators already found some evidences linking the crime to some teens roaming around the streets at night.

Crimes like these are common nowadays. Crimes made by just teenagers which are usually onto drugs. One reason why these is becoming common is drugs are easier to purchase now especially in the internet. Drugs like Ecstacy and Metamphetamine which are sold as herbal stimulants in the internet.

Teens involved in drugs are likely to become criminals in the future. So if you know anyone using illegal drugs, do them a favor and send them to a drug rehab before things get worse. Remember, these teens are victims of the syndicates in the streets. As for the thief who stole my brother’s phone, the police have already identified him and is already on the hunt.

Hair fall alarm!

This morning, after a hot shower, I combed my hair and noticed some hair in my brush. It was more than the usual amount so I was a bit alarmed (actually I freaked out). I called a physician friend of mine and asked him up. He told me that there are many causes of hair fall. Most of them are either hormonal imbalance problems or just stress-related.
I remembered I was so stressed last week because of the hacking of our web database. I was quite relieved to know that my hair fall is just normal when we set stressed out. Anyhow he gave me a hair loss treatment shampoo and advised me to get some good sleep to prevent any more falling. So I’m filing for a day off tomorrow. Haha.
