my movie room
Author: wisteria
Aside from sleeping and drinking, I love watching movies. But sometimes when I’m already stressed out with work, I don’t like to line up for the movie tickets anymore. I’d rather stay home and watch TV. So this gave me the idea of building my own movie room! You can make one too.
It’s pretty easy. For starters, you’ll need a spare room with air-conditioning to get that movie house feel; a home theater system, or just a DVD player with a TV and subwoofer; and most importantly, a good set of home theater furniture. The furniture is essential to make your room look like a real movie house. You may also add some thick curtains on all the walls to reduce the sound reflections inside the room (and to keep the room dark).
Now after your tiring day at work, you can just grab some fries and a burger on your way home and watch a movie in your very own movie room! You can even invite some friends over so they can provide the free food and drinks.

Wine Mania
Author: wisteria
Drinking wine with your friends, your clients or your colleagues is a good way to socialize. Not only does this taste and smell good, but this also helps you make friends or strengthen your bond between your old friends.
I’ve searched wine clubs and I can say that ones with a wine of the month are pretty interesting indeed. You get to familiarize yourself with other kinds of wine and not stick to your old favorites. This way, you can share to others your opinion on what wine tastes better, and they can also share with you their favorites. Useful, don’t you think?
The Living Room
Author: wisteria
Your living room is one of the most important rooms in your house. This is the room that your guests most often see, and it’s most probably one of the factors that help people know who you are. If it’s messy or clean, then your room speaks for you.
The coffee table that you choose to put in your living room helps a lot in projecting an image for the whole living room so make sure you put a lot of effort in choosing coffee tables.
Also, try looking for a sofa set that matches the coffee table that you chose or vice versa. Remember: Your living room is who you are! (I made that up. Haha!)
Goodbye, Wrinkles!
Author: wisteria
If you’re vain like me, and like most women our age (but I prefer not to post my age here for privacy and vanity purposes, haha), and if you have a few wrinkles that you wish to remove from your face or anywhere else, you should do it the traditional way! To buy wrinkle cream is the most practical way.
Even if the results take quite long, at least you’re sure it works. You should ask my friends, they use wrinkle cream too and I can say that they are very happy with the results. If you have any products or brands to recommend, please feel free to comment on this post.
A Way to Escape from Stress
Author: wisteria
I don’t think I have stressed this long enough so I guess I shall point out my opinion to you, my dear readers. Your garden can help you with relaxing and unwinding from the world’s worries, so please take good care of your garden. I am currently saving up to buy garden decor to furnish my garden, or should I say, our garden here at home.
The nature helps me ease myself and release my tension, so I take good care of it. We humans are very dependent creatures, we depend on nature. So I guess we should at least help the world become a bit greener than what it looks right now, we could help the future generations survive more. Remember: Little ways + Many people = BIG CHANGE.
Sleeping–Yet Again
Author: wisteria
Sleeping, is my favorite topic as you see, ‘cause I see recreation in sleeping. I can relax and free myself from the world’s worries and dream whatever goals I have without anybody judging me. To be able to sleep though, one needs good ventilation. I suggest Blueair products since they have helped me sleep to my heart’s desire ever since.
Try it yourself, you’ll see that I don’t just recommend lame products. I have tested these myself and I found these products very effective and efficient.
Of course, to be able to sleep well, here’s my only advice to you: THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS!
Sinks and their purposes
Author: wisteria
Pedestal sinks are a wonderful addition to your bathroom. These sinks can help you with your simple recreational routines. I, myself, enjoy washing my face and brushing my teeth nightly. Even my sisters complain that I take too much time in the bathroom!
These sinks also have unique structures that can also be pleasing to the eyes. This can be a great addition to a retro bathroom, or a floral one, since these sinks have various designs and prints on them. Just be careful in choosing them since we don’t want to waste our money on low-quality ones. Alright?
on my guitar skills nostalgia
Author: wisteria
My uncle Roger has been playing the guitar since his early 20’s. He’s currently the lead guitarist in his band and is performing regularly in Saipan. He’s a major fan of Bose that almost everything sound related in his house is Bose branded - from guitar effects to Bose home theater. I can’t blame him though. Bose really makes high-end appliances and equipment.
He was one of the people who encouraged me to play the guitar when I was 13 and observed that I have a great potential in the music industry. I did get to perform in a lot of places and events, and my band even won a major competition back in 2002; thanks to Uncle Roger’s support and my family’s as well.
Anyhow, as of the moment I’m no longer actively practicing and harnessing my guitar skills. I stopped playing when I started working. I miss it every now and then though; especially when I see bands perform horribly. It makes me want to throw them off the stage and take their place instead.
I do jam with my sisters when I have the time. Perhaps someday, when time and my emotion permits, I will start playing my guitar again.
the convertible living room
Author: wisteria
I just came home from a family trip to Bicol, a province in south Luzon in the Philippines. We stayed there during the Holy Week to bond with our relatives and to help with the household tasks there. My cousins and I even went to CWC to wakeboard. We stayed at the Mansion Suites and I found a cool chair at the lobby on the second floor. It’s egg-shaped and made of wood and cushion.
My cousin Gelo showed me a “convertible living room”. Turns out, the sofa can be turned into a bed so your living room can easily be converted to a bedroom.
I searched online for furniture similar to the one I saw at our provincial house and that egg-shaped chair I found at the Mansion Suites ’cause I found it so fascinating. I found Directbuy and immediately surfed their website. They charge membership dues to join but they sell products at manufacturer prices without the traditional retail mark-up. Plus, there is a wide variety of furniture there. Not only did I get to see furniture similar to my cousin’s so-called “convertible living room”, I also found other interesting and unique designs.
Try surfing this site and see for yourself. Comments about this blog post are appreciated.
movie enthusiasts
Author: wisteria
One of the things my friend JC and I love to do is to watch movies. We have already frequented many movie theaters across the city. Some of the staff in those movie theaters even knew us by name.
No matter how we try to be selective and watch only movies with really great reviews, we’re still very much attracted to almost every movie there is. You could say that it takes a large chunk from our budget. My friend and I plan to save up so that we could watch movies within the comfort of our own homes. We’ll set up our own movie theater with the best entertainment system, and sit in our own home theater chairs someday.
