Bridal registry - the way to go
Author: admin
Last Saturday I had fun playing around with the barcode scanner while my sister picks up things she would like to have for her wedding at the Bridal Registry. From Colorwave Pitcher Blue Dinnerware to the Mattress Pad-Queen Afi Crown Bed and Bath and Tefal Eureka Blu Cookware Set Kitchenware… of course, those are just suggestions to the would-be guests.
Then again, personally, I think having a Bridal Registry is the way to go nowadays; especially if you want to avoid having two or more rice cooker or toaster – it’s every newlywed’s nightmare. Also, knowing that you may be receiving a matching dining set to go with your furniture is definitely something to look forward to when opening the gifts after the wedding, don’t you think?
So, next time you decide to buy a wedding present, check out first if the couple’s listed at the gift registry.

Pot-lucking

YEY! XBOX NIGHT! So okay…every 3 weeks, we have this xbox night normally it’s done at Pete’s place, mainly because he’s a cook, so it’s a given that we’ll be pigging on GOOD GOOD FOOD whenever the party is held there. It’s supposedly “Pot luck” but on one dares to bring amy food just because Pete’s sumptuous dinner and finger foods can make any of our best dishes seem like crap. After 5 types of main courses and 6 types of finger foods we were all fat. We were ready to get butchered. You can probably see my fat at 5$ per kilo.
So our “potluck”’ consisted of tequila rose, el hombre, jack daniel’s, Johnny walker, etc. Name it..we brought it. After a while Sergey and Joey were drunk on alcohol, good food, and xbox. They made little sighs of “life is good” as they were lounging their temporary fat ass.
I didn’t go over board that night. I had my own xbox night episode that I never what that to happen ever again.
T’was fun mates! Till the next one!
The best rocking house party ever!

Have you ever tried playing the Rockband game in ps3? Well, it was the first time we (me and my friends) tried doing that and the only thing I can say about it is… HELL YEAH! Damn it was so fun. We were invited by Linda to try out her new PS3 that her mother bought for her. We never enjoyed a house party as much as we did last night. All my friends were shouting and jumping around like the foo fighters hehe. I, on the other hand, was just seated at the back - PLAYING THE DRUMS! Wohoooo!
After the exhausting gameplay, we headed straight to the garden. Linda’s Mom was just so hospitable and cool, she even made us grilled burgers. Imagine that… rockband game plus outdoor grilling, what more could you ask for?
18th birthday videoke-party under the stars
Author: admin
It’s my sister Ruth’s 18th birthday on the 31st! We’re planning to celebrate it at home to make the event more cozy and comfy. We’re deciding on having it at our rooftop or in our garage. Then again, I just remembered that our garage floor is still under renovation, so, it’s going to be an 18th birthday party under the stars!
It’s not going to be a big celebration. Just a few close friends and relatives, with beer, great food, and of course, videoke! I intend to turn the videoke sounds full blast on that night. Time to get my revenge on our inconsiderate neighbors who keeps singing, or rather croaking, in ungodly hours! Ahahaha!
Don we now our gay apparel

Tis the season to be jolly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Don we now our gay apparel,
Fa la la, la la la, la la la.
Yipes. It’s the season of parties and reunions. The time where we meet a lot of people and have the opportunity to flaunt ourselves in gay apparel. Then again, at the moment, I’m not pretty confident about the flaunting area. Aside from my loveable curls-that-looks-natural (I would like to thank Shine Girls for this), my love handles are just not cooperating!
Anyway, it’s not the end of the world for me. It’s not as if I’ve gained that much weight. After all, parties and reunions mean tons of free food! Imagine if you’re weight conscious during this time. Tsk tsk tsk… I’m pretty sure that those who are on diet mode will have nightmares of irresistible, mouthwatering food throughout this festive season.
To make sure though that I don’t get Santa’s belly after all the celebrations, I bought a fitness equipment to keep me in shape (if not tone down my belly). My friend Mark and I also signed up for Bikram Yoga next year. That way, we’ll definitely be gorgeous all throughout 2010.
All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go

After rehearsing for my 40-minute speech about the Basics of SEO for a prestigious state university last September, my friend Eden, sensing how tensed I am, asked if I’d like to go on a long vacation in her province this coming November.
Normally, I would’ve jumped at the opportunity. But this time around, I am very strict on settling all my debts before the year ends; so I gave her a very wishful but sad, “I can’t”. After finding out my real reason, Eden laughed and said it’s going to be an all inclusive vacations for us since her family owns a place there.
My face lit up at the mention of “all inclusive”. She even furthered that I can bring friends and we need not worry about the food and lodging! Imagine that!
Of course, as you know, I DID jump at the opportunity and even invited my Nth level friend. We’re in fact, going there this week! Mind you, all my bags are packed, I’m ready to go (even though our flight is still on Thursday)! *jumps up and down with glee*
On useless security cameras

It’s funny how offices install video surveillance equipment but do not monitor them. Just last week, one of the LCD’s magically disappeared from the server room and no one seemed to notice until I ran over the inventory. And so I asked the security administrators if they had logs of equipment repairs but they did not find any. Then when I asked if they had the security cameras turned on, they said yes however, it is not being recorded. Hehe. So basically our security system is useless. Anyhow, an investigation took place and it turns out that my boss took the LCD and placed it in his office. That explains why there is no log about that. Oh well.
I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but the Philippines is in a state of calamity right now due to Typhoon Ondoy (international name Ketsana) which hit the country last September 26, 2009. The country, according to reports, the amount of rainfall in nine hours last Saturday was more than the average monthly rainfall in Metro Manila.
According to more news, as of September 27, Sunday, at least 73 persons were killed and nearly 70,000 families were displaced by massive flooding after tropical storm Ondoy. Based from what I’ve seen in the news both online and offline, a lot of Filipinos have severely damaged houses due to the massive flooding. Some houses were only damaged in the first floors of their house and all they have to do is clean up their furniture, kitchen faucet and floor tiles. However, many houses there are bungalow type, making them now uninhabitable.
Two more typhoons are expected to hit the country within the week as well (Typhoon Parma over the weekend). Let us pray that everyone will be safe and will survive this calamity.
Japan in April 2010

Unlike some people whose sole purpose in life is to get thin by taking diet pills, I have been dreaming of learning Nihongo since I was in high school. With that of course, being able to go to Japan is already a given on my list of “must do”.
As Paulo Coelho wrote in The Alchemist, “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” I have been wanting it, with all my heart. And by the looks of it, I am already on my way to achieving it – by April 2010, if all goes well. ^^;
You see, I met my friend Mark last year and he’s been coaching me in Nihongo and giving me text books on how to learn Japanese. There’s also my friend Romar and JC, who’s currently residing in Japan, and both are willing to give me a one week tour plus free accommodation when I have the means (i.e. cash) to be able to go to Japan.
With my friend Mark helping me with my finances as well, I just might be able to make it in time for Hanami (花見?, lit. “flower viewing”) next year. *cross fingers* I can’t wait to post pictures of it here. ^_^ Wish me luck!
My silver lining on a death affair

After finding out that my colleague Grace’s grandmother died yesterday at 2 p.m. out of old age, I immediately contacted Haycee, an old friend and ex-colleague who was also Grace’s neighbor, and arranged to meet her this morning to be able to go to the wake. You see, Grace’s grandmother’s place was a good two-hour drive from my place and I’m unfamiliar with the location.
Haycee was momentarily stunned when she came to greet me at her house’s entrance. She gushed, “Whatever happened to your pimples?!” I too, was quite stunned at her greeting, and then I remembered that it’s been more than a year since I saw her. The last time was in August 2008 when I paid my respects when Haycee’s grandmother died.
I laughed at her stunned expression and shared that I’ve been using an acne and anti wrinkle cream upon my dermatologist’s recommendation. Obviously, it works. ^_^ She was still in awe and found it amazing that there are no traces of my pimples, at all.
Anyhow, having paid our respects to Grace’s family, I stayed at Haycee’s for awhile to catch up with her. We ended up playing Chopsticks and Blue Moon on her piano, with her promising to play and/or sing “Love is the Answer” on my wedding march (whenever that may be).
Although it was unfortunate that we meet again in this circumstance, meeting Haycee was definitely the silver lining in the could-have-been very melancholic affair.
