A few weeks ago, a good friend of mine gave me a new mp3 player. He explained that he chose such gift because he wanted me to have company wherever I go, and particularly when he’s not around.

Now I have more than 1,000 songs and lots of videos and pictures and games with me. I take it to practically all the places I go. I have started taking it along with me when I go out for a jog and when I exercise, and it has really been helpful in keeping me happy about exercising.

Also, it has been particularly useful for me when I travel, since it takes away much of the boredom and stress in commuting. Travelling becomes more pleasant for me when I hear my favorite music playing.

I’m so glad such lightweight and useful electronics are available in my generation. Imagine having to carry around a cassette player, cassette tapes, and batteries when jogging!

I woke up this morning to news about various crimes. Not a good way to start a day, but important nonetheless. Such news reports make me more careful about my actions, particularly when I travel. I’m so paranoid about being robbed on the streets, or in the public buses and trains I ride. Though crime can happen anywhere, even at home, there’s a higher risk of it happening in public places. I definitely wouldn’t want a stranger to have the very personal possessions I carry, like my cellular phone, iPod, laptop, money, credit cards, identification cards, even my luxury watches and cosmetics.

So before I step out of my home, I take the necessary precautions. I suppose it works, for till now I haven’t been robbed yet. And I hope I never will.

Marielle is my sister’s best friend. She is about to be married and she requested my sister Anne to assist in planning the wedding. In short, to be the wedding planner. This is Anne’s first wedding task, though she had assisted a number of her classmates and friends plan their 18th birthday. As such, Anne prepared the checklist.

The checklist Anne prepared includes what is not usually talked about, but very important, that of the bridal lingerie. The attire of the bride and the groom during and after the wedding ceremony are always in the list. At times, even the honeymoon attire is included. However, the attire in the most awaited first night of the honeymooners is not listed. In this regard, Anne sees to it, that Marielle wearing a bridal lingerie carefully selected, will be the most beautiful woman during that very special and memorable evening of her life with her husband.

My aunt Claire joined the Marian pilgrimage in Fatima, Portugal. Prior to her departure, when her youngest daughter, Frances came to know about it, she repeatedly requested her mother not to forget to bring home the religious jewelry she has been dreaming, the Our Lady of Fatima Medal.

Frances in her younger years had read several times the stories about the series of Marian apparitions in Fatima, Portugal to the three young children, Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco. Since then, Frances has been wishing to have the medal of Our Lady of Fatima bought from Portugal.

The long wait has ended; Frances had teary eyes when her mother upon her arrival handed to her the jewelry she had been waiting for.

I used to think that accessorizing is a waste of time and money. That is, every morning, selecting which accessories goes with your clothes eats up a lot of your time. All you need are the basics like a watch, pearl earrings and necklace, simple jewelries with nicely cut diamonds, dangling silver earrings, classic black belt… mix and match them and you’ll have a great effect – timelessly stylish.

While waiting for my friend, I did some window shopping and did a double take on one of the stores selling women’s lingerie. Their displays were very enticing and their designs are simply elegant.

I have been thinking of updating my base layers so I went inside the store to have a closer look. I did another double take, this time because of their prices. Tsk tsk. Lingerie, good quality lingerie are really expensive nowadays. Then again, lingerie are worth investing in. So I bought several pairs. ^^;
