thinking about a new car
Author: wisteria
I’ve been thinking about saving up to buy myself a brand new car. Of course, nothing beats the fun of having the means to go wherever I want and whenever I want. Also, traveling by public transportation is quite stressful and dangerous. I’ve heard so many stories of people who experienced robberies and harassments while in public buses and trains. Which is why the idea of getting a car is becoming more appealing by the minute.
However, I still have to consider the price I would have to pay for maintaining a car. That includes the usual fuel expenses, car-cleaning and waxing, payments to the mechanic, parking fees, car insurance payments, etc. I’d have to compute how much I have to save (and earn), considering how costly acquiring and maintaining a car is.

putting your old car into good use

I’ve heard of people donating canned goods, clothes, blankets, and even cash to the needy… but cars? Now that’s something new.
Now where did I get this out of this world idea, and why would anyone donate car? It’s simple, really. I encountered Car Angel Ministries (a non-profit company)’ website explaining that carangel.com is an avenue for voluntary donors to use their vehicle, boat or trailer to help single mothers, homeless, teen and adult rehab, food distribution and orphans meet their needs. Just so you know, the money they raise is used to make videos like this one: http://youtube.com/user/boatangel
The best thing about this is that you can actually select the charity organization you want to benefit from your car donation. Oh, and you need not worry about the scheduling towing and title transfers – they will do it for you.
So for those of you who wants to get rid of an unwanted car and be able to help out children at the same time, consider donating it to Car Angel.
on customizable cars

I recently chatted via YM with my cousin Erique, who’s currently in California. He bought a car last month and showed me some pictures of his new “baby” car. He kept on talking about Dodge Charger accessory. I wasn’t sure what that was so I did some research online and found out that a Dodge Charger is “one of the most customizable vehicles on the market”.
Amazing. Even the floor mats can be custom embroidered. Anyhow, Erique promised to give me a road tour with his new car should I decide to visit him in California. I can’t wait. ^_^
