Car Lovin’

My brother is currently obsessed with tweaking his car and I can’t help but find it cute.

He keeps buying upgrades like rud tire chains and a camera at his car’s bumper so he doesn’t have to look back so much when he backs up.

He even bought a GPS that’s really awesome and I like to stare at it whenever I ride his car because it never fails to amaze me. His sound system is brilliant, the interface is on a touch screen device.

If people’s vices are usually drugs and beer, my brother’s vice would probably be buying really expensive gadgets.

No kidding. I’m jealous, really, because if I had the money I’d probably be buying even more useless gadgets than my brother, but I’d have money, so it wouldn’t matter! RIGHT?!

What kind of things do you usually buy to make yourself happy? Do you buy toiletries? Clothes? Shoes? Makeup? Share it with us!

My mom used to love gardening. Back in our old house in the military camp, she’d buy a lot of flower pots and plant various types of flowers in them. Our new house has a bigger backyard, but the ground is still not very fertile. I plan on buying fertile land and having our backyard redone so she can start on working on our backyard’s landscape.

I hope she appreciates the gardening gifts that I get her. We used to plant flowers in our yard when I was young, and she’d pick flowers and put them in a vase to display in our living room. They were really beautiful.

I guess you can blame her for my A’s in my Home Economics class! She’s always been so obsessed with keeping the house spic and span. We had this humble little home back then, and she’d get nothing but compliments about it.

I hope to be a good housekeeper as her when I start to have a family of my own. :)

Jealousy

You know it actually took me a lot of time and effort to save up to buy my iPhone. Two out of my three friends also have their own iPhone products. One of them has an iPhone 4, and the other has an ipod nano touch. We all saved up to buy our own things.

I guess the times when we stop talking and just play games on our phones and iPods made the friend who didn’t have any apple products a little jealous. She started being rude to her parents about not buying her anything when all of her friends have apple products.

I gave her a talk about how she needs to save up and stop asking money from her parents to buy stuff that she doesn’t really need. We all need to learn how to be independent, and I can say that today is her day.

It’s not really very healthy for a person to rely on their parents for the rest of their lives.

A Countdown Application

Every year I to stack up holiday cards and every year I also forget giving them. Whenever I pass by a card store, I get the coolest holiday card even if the holiday is still months away. I do this because usually the same cards do not stay on the shelves for long. The problem is, I  tend to forget the holidays. Yeah, that is how busy I am at work.

So this time I have decided to create an application on my iPhone – a countdown timer. This app will enable me to add dates and in turn it will keep track of them and will display a countdown in days, hours and seconds. This way I will not forget about the holiday, provided  I do not forget my iphone.

I have created an alpha version already. It took me just a couple of hours. However it made my iphone hang up a couple of times. I may have done a non terminating loop I guess. Oh well, as soon I perfected this I’ll post it here for free download. Bye now!
