Hair fall alarm!
Author: admin
This morning, after a hot shower, I combed my hair and noticed some hair in my brush. It was more than the usual amount so I was a bit alarmed (actually I freaked out). I called a physician friend of mine and asked him up. He told me that there are many causes of hair fall. Most of them are either hormonal imbalance problems or just stress-related.
I remembered I was so stressed last week because of the hacking of our web database. I was quite relieved to know that my hair fall is just normal when we set stressed out. Anyhow he gave me a hair loss treatment shampoo and advised me to get some good sleep to prevent any more falling. So I’m filing for a day off tomorrow. Haha.

Dressing Jiro Up
Author: admin
On Saturday, there will be a fund-raising for a family friend who has cancer. They decided on doing a pseudo prom cocktail party. This means I am dressing up.
I managed to convince my friend, Jiro to come and be my date but on one condition, I have to help him pick out a tuxedo shirt. So we searched far and wide at the mall the whole afternoon. He liked a couple of shirts on different shops at the mall but he said before he decides on anything he has to eat something because he was already seeing stars due to starvation.
We ate and had coffee till it was almost 1 hour before the mall closes. Finally after eating, he decided to get his first choice. Tired and all I told him, “Dude, you pick out clothes like a girl!” he laughed and finally we parted ways.
The IT shift

What makes the IT jobs so special? Many fresh graduates I know of shifted career to IT. Take Ted for instance (he’s a good friend of mine). He was already a registered nurse, but he preferred to take jobs in programming rather than work on call in a hospital. Another one is my brother, who gave up his license in chemical engineering just to practice Oracle database management. One of the reasons for their shift is the regular working ours and lesser health risk, that is aside form the high paying salary and bragging rights of course.
As a webmaster, I think aside from the regular working hours, there’s nothing special about IT jobs. I think individuals have their own calling in life, a career that really matches their preferences and lifestyle. It just happened that the IT is booming right now and it demands a lot of workers. And because IT jobs only have minimum requirements (just programming or coding skills) many are able to practice it.
stressed = desserts

There are myriads of things that can induce stress – from hectic schedules and impossible deadlines, to even a simple overweight problem. Then again, for problems such as those, there are many ways to go about it (e.g. for the overweight problem, you can either go the easy, unsure way by taking weight loss pills, you can go for the tried-and-tested, healthy way by eating a balanced diet and exercising, or you can simply just ignore the fact that you are overweight).
Point is, it all depends on how you deal with your problem. As for me, when I’m stressed, I deal with it the stressed-spelled-backwards way – I treat myself to delicious desserts. Literally. I mean, you’re already stressed out, do something that makes you happy for crying out load. De-stress! Relax. It will do you wonders. Take it from Leonardo da Vinci,
“Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer. Go some distance away because then the work appears smaller and more of it can be taken in at a glance and a lack of harmony and proportion is more readily seen.”
