On traveling safely
Author: admin
A good traveller has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving. - Lao Tzu
But a great traveler, especially an independent one, is precautious. And one of the best ways to ensure the safety of a traveler is to get a travel insurance.
For those always on the go and does not want to be hampered with the hassle of going to an insurance company and reading all their brochures and pamphlets, you need not worry. There are websites that provide online travel insurance. Some of them cover adventure sports and valuable items such as digital cameras, and even allow their customers to claim online while they are still away.
What’s more is that there’s actually a site that reviews insurance websites based from the current views of five (5) internet industry professionals who have been designing and building online e-businesses for over 10 years – Cheap Travel Insurance. Their criteria includes price, value, ease of use, financial rating, communication, speed, secure e-commerce, customer service, online extensions, and online claims. Oh, and they do not make recommendations as to which product, service or level of cover is better or more suitable for you, just which works best.
With all these valuable online services, you would not be able to come up with a decent excuse for not having any travel insurance the next time a mishap happens to you while you’re on the road.

The convertible living room
Author: admin
I just came home from a family trip to Bicol, a province in south Luzon in the Philippines. We stayed there during the Holy Week to bond with our relatives and to help with the household tasks there. My cousins and I even went to CWC to wakeboard. We stayed at the Mansion Suites and I found a cool chair at the lobby on the second floor. It’s egg-shaped and made of wood and cushion.
My cousin Gelo showed me a “convertible living room”. Turns out, the sofa can be turned into a bed so your living room can easily be converted to a bedroom.
I searched online for furniture similar to the one I saw at our provincial house and that egg-shaped chair I found at the Mansion Suites ”cause I found it so fascinating. I found Directbuy and immediately surfed their website. They charge membership dues to join but they sell products at manufacturer prices without the traditional retail mark-up. Plus, there is a wide variety of furniture there. Not only did I get to see furniture similar to my cousin”s so-called “convertible living room”, I also found other interesting and unique designs.
Try surfing this site and see for yourself. Comments about this blog post are appreciated.
Whistler – the skiers’ fantasy land
Author: admin
Noted as the “Number One Ski Resort in North America” and the “Best Ski Resort in the World” by prominent ski magazines, Whistler, Canada offers everything that you could possibly want. From a charming alpine village, a fantastic scenery, to wonderful skiing on two magnificent side-by-side mountains (Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains), and great and reasonably-priced Whistler accommodation – that’s Whistler, British Columbia for you.
To cap it off, just this July, Vancouver-Whistler was selected as the host city for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Greatly enthused with all these, I checked some Whistler lodgings and settled with Hearthstone Lodge Penthouse. Based from reviews, with a prime location in the very middle of the Village and with a virtually postcard perfect view, this penthouse truly combines luxury and comfort. Why settle for less when you can have it all, and at a reasonable price at that?
