Postcards and photos in Amsterdam
Author: admin
Memories of persons who have touched your life and those you love are associated with souvenirs such as letters, gifts, and photographs. Photos with them are the ones treasured the most. For me, I include in these memories pictures of the places I had visited. These pictures also help me remember these historical places and tourist spots I’ve been to.
My unique and simple method of taking souvenir photos is to buy a postcard of the site I’m visiting and have my photo taken similar to that of the one printed or captured in the postcard. Thus, when I turn the pages of my photo albums, no one would dare say that I had not been in these places.
This is also what I intend to do when I get to travel to Barcelona or Prague. Hmmm… but I’ll probably visit Amsterdam first since my friends told me Amsterdam have more to offer to those with less to spend. With this, I intend to book in Amsterdam Hotels that suit my needs and budget to maximize my stay in the place.
I will, of course, not leave Amsterdam without buying the postcard of “The Venice of the North” and having someone take my picture close to the beautiful canals running through the city centre of Amsterdam. Afterwards, I can proudly ask my friends, “Would you like to see my postcards and photos in Amsterdam?”

A glimpse on being a kendo-ka
Author: admin
In 2005, I joined Manila Kendo Club with a mixture of curiosity, apprehension, and excitement. Kendo, a form of Japanese sword fighting, was recommended to me by one of my senseis in Aikido when I was in high school. And the fact that one of my favorite anime characters – Kenshin Himura- is skilled in the art of sword added more appeal to it. Well, there’s also the keiko scene in My Sassy Girl which made me want to have my own bogu (armor) set. I have always known that all forms of sport or activity, especially if it’s a martial art, will require a lot of dedication and patience to master it. But it was only when I joined Kendo that I learned how important patience is. One kendo-ka shared, “Kendo used to be based on actual killing techniques. It was based around the principle of trying to end the fight as quickly as possible. So if you sever the spine, cut off the head, or cut off the wrists, the fight’’s over.”
To be able to achieve this type of skill, you need to concentrate on physical development, etiquette, mental development, and alertness. Nevertheless, Kendo’s ultimate goal is this: ki-ken-tai-ichi (spirit, sword and body as one). Cutting or slicing with your sword, no matter how efficient you perform it, is mediocre unless you slice and cut with your spirit, sword, and body in harmony with each other. It will take time to attain this level. In fact, even some Kendo practitioners in dan level admit to occasional lapses in achieving this. And this, my friend, is where patience comes in.
The Priceless Intangible Heirloom

“Education is a possession which cannot be taken away from men.”
–Epictetus
In my elementary days, during one of our regular family dinners at home, the subject about dowry, heirloom, and treasure were brought up. Being on the average strata, I know I will not be receiving a bank book with a six-digit figure balance. Nevertheless, I just had to ask my parents what they are planning to bequeath to me and my other three siblings. My dad chuckled. With laughing but tender eyes, he said, “My dear daughter, we are giving you the best treasure in the entire world. It is something that cannot be taken away from you; something that is not tangible, but is very valuable and will be useful for the rest of your life – education.” Being then only a kid, though I did somewhat understand what he meant, I was a bit disappointed. As every typical kid, I was expecting that there will at least be a reasonable stash of money for me. Looking back at that scene, I feel a huge lump in my throat. My dad was right. Education IS the best gift any parent could offer to his/her offspring. As Baz Luhrman’s Sunscreen goes, “Dont expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one might run out.” With my current job, I’m considering getting a second degree course in the field of Computer Network Operations. Since I’m quite busy, I decided to search for a school online. So far, one of the schools I’m checking out is this: http://www.gibbsnj.edu/. If there’s anyone who can give a feedback about it, or would like to suggest other exceptional schools, please free to add a comment. Thanks!
Work and its environment

Real Estates have been in demand since the start. The Commercial Real Estate to be specific, is currently what is in demand right now. We use it for residential uses, for retail and most of all, for work. You can find different kinds of this anywhere in the world today.
I have taken a special interest in commercial real estates since I have a passion for work and I think that the environment or the workspace adds a great deal of influence on the workers. In my opinion, we should consider the atmosphere of where we work since it affects our mood and our mood affects the product of our work, therefore a good, clean and green workspace would be better than one in between roads full of pollution. What I”m trying to say is, we should be careful in choosing what estate to pick for workspaces since not only does it affect us, it also affects those who would work in that estate you chose.
