planning my vacation
Author: wisteria
It’s vacation time once again and I have lots of ideas on what activities to do and where to go to have a well-spent vacation. First of all, I’m planning to go to a white sand beach where I could spend my time swimming and scuba diving and having massage treatments. Next, I would love to go mountain climbing and rappelling at this new outdoor recreational facility I heard of. When it gets too hot, I’m planning on going to a place in Scotland, where the weather is cooler than usual during summer days.
Of course my vacation wouldn’t be complete without enjoying the good food and trying out the exotic delicacies in the places I visit. However, I don’t want to gain so much weight so I’m thinking of bringing along a bottle of Akavar. I heard it results to weight loss no matter how much a person eats. I hope it works well for me..

losing weight—the most common reason for engaging in sports
Author: wisteria
There are a lot of reasons why one plays sports. Some of these are to lose weight, to stay fit and to make friends. Let us concentrate on the “losing weight” reason.
Most people think they’re too fat or some part of their body is too big for the other parts. For example—they think their stomach is too big for their arms and legs. This is why they resort to sports. Sports have a lot of benefits, and this is one of them.
This is most probably why people invented diet pills. These products have active ingredients that help you to increase your metabolic rate. Increasing your metabolic rate means helping you to burn more calories, burning more calories means burning excess sugar stored in your body which is also called fats. They also have ingredients that give you more power, thus making you able to perform more exercises, and again burning more fats. The most important factor in dieting is actually the appetite control. Lucky for diet pill-users, these pills also help you control your appetite.
These pills are basically useless if you just consume them and completely rely on them to lose weight. You should also do your best in exercises to help these pills reduce your weight faster.
wedding planner’s checklist
Author: wisteria
Marielle is my sister’s best friend. She is about to be married and she requested my sister Anne to assist in planning the wedding. In short, to be the wedding planner. This is Anne’s first wedding task, though she had assisted a number of her classmates and friends plan their 18th birthday. As such, Anne prepared the checklist.
The checklist Anne prepared includes what is not usually talked about, but very important, that of the bridal lingerie. The attire of the bride and the groom during and after the wedding ceremony are always in the list. At times, even the honeymoon attire is included. However, the attire in the most awaited first night of the honeymooners is not listed. In this regard, Anne sees to it, that Marielle wearing a bridal lingerie carefully selected, will be the most beautiful woman during that very special and memorable evening of her life with her husband.
LAB EQUIPMENT 101
Author: wisteria
Welcome back to my site! Today, I have decided to show you the wonderful world of the laboratory by showing or explaining one of its equipments. Let’s take the electric hot plate as an example.
If you don’t know what a hot plate is, it is a lab equipment used in heating glassware like the Erlenmeyer’s flask. The electric version is more economical and convenient since it’s pretty much made to be reliable and easy to use (also can reduce a LOT of heating time, if you’re really good at looking for hot plates!).
The laboratory reminds me of the sport, baseball. If you’re the pitcher, you got to throw it right and if you’re the hitter, you got to be able to hit the ball and run to first base without being tagged out to score! If you don’t follow instructions in using equipment or performing an experiment, you’ll end up being a complete disaster (and disaster means NO FUN!). So folks, always read and follow instructions before doing anything in the laboratory!
family vacation in europe
Author: wisteria
Had my friend Lucy got informed of the so called “heir advance“, perhaps her whole family is now spending their vacation in Europe. It had been the dream of Lucy to spend time with her family in a place away from home, not only once but it will be done regularly. Lucy believes in family solidarity, and the importance of family members’ support in good times and most of all in bad times or crisis situation.
Sad to say, Lucy could have saved the assets/wealth of her parents, if only she had been aware of the procedures in heir advance. Wise men say, experience is a hard or tough teacher for it gives the test first before the lesson. As such, why start with the test, let us just learn the lesson from Lucy’s experience.
a gift for grandma
Author: wisteria
Recently, my mother read an article that says, a dog can help a lot in handling the problems of old people. My grandma who stays in the farm is already 80 years old and is still strong because she believes walking is a good exercise. However, when we visited her lately, we observed she is experiencing mood swings. Oftentimes, this brought misunderstanding between her and the caregivers.
I remembered the time grandma spent vacation with us, she loves our dogs. Three months ago, Grandma’s favorite dog gave birth to three white puppies. With this, we thought of giving one puppy for grandma as a birthday gift so as to ease her boredom and solve her mood swings. We are sure, grandma will not have any problem with this puppy since this dog has been trained to use the pee pee pad and the indoor dog potty. We hope with this very special and unique gift grandma will be happy and everybody in the family will be happy too.
the positive side of drug rehabilitation
Author: wisteria
People always have a negative view of drug rehabilitation since they think it’s exactly like what they see on television—the place full of misers, suffering patients and staffed by scary caregivers who don’t even “care” at all. Guess what? It’s definitely not a place full of miserable people that make you even more depressed! Rehabilitation centers are a place where one should find hope, joy and vitality that drug addiction takes away from them.
Some rehabilitation centers are even so luxurious that make you feel like you’re staying at a private resort and hotel! I have seen some on the internet and I can say that it’s pretty amazing. So if you think negatively about the rehabilitation thing, then I’d like to ask you to think again! If your son, daughter or relative is addicted to drugs or has an alcoholic problem, I suggest you take them to a good rehabilitation center. And I’m sure they’ll thank you someday for what you did.
internet search results
Author: wisteria
One of the things I like doing whenever I have the free time is to surf the internet. Each time, I find interesting and informative websites that make me evaluate the way I think about things.
For example, when I read the words “computer monitor arm” in a web page, I really thought it refers to the arm or clipboard placed near the monitor that holds the documents and papers to be typed. Only when I looked at the pictures in the web page did I know that it’s actually the one that holds the monitor itself in place. Using that device, you can place your monitor on a desk, on the wall, or up the ceiling. It’s like the desk stand or wall or ceiling mount being widely used for television sets.
I definitely have more things to learn, and a lot more websites to search.
the convertible living room
Author: wisteria
I just came home from a family trip to Bicol, a province in south Luzon in the Philippines. We stayed there during the Holy Week to bond with our relatives and to help with the household tasks there. My cousins and I even went to CWC to wakeboard. We stayed at the Mansion Suites and I found a cool chair at the lobby on the second floor. It’s egg-shaped and made of wood and cushion.
My cousin Gelo showed me a “convertible living room”. Turns out, the sofa can be turned into a bed so your living room can easily be converted to a bedroom.
I searched online for furniture similar to the one I saw at our provincial house and that egg-shaped chair I found at the Mansion Suites ’cause I found it so fascinating. I found Directbuy and immediately surfed their website. They charge membership dues to join but they sell products at manufacturer prices without the traditional retail mark-up. Plus, there is a wide variety of furniture there. Not only did I get to see furniture similar to my cousin’s so-called “convertible living room”, I also found other interesting and unique designs.
Try surfing this site and see for yourself. Comments about this blog post are appreciated.
A Story on Walking
Author: wisteria
A friend of mine told me the story of her cousin who seems to like traveling. Her cousin named Victor would spend each day walking and roaming the streets of each and every town in their small municipality. It is not known if it was because of personal preference or just out of habit, but it did start in a rather unexpected way.
You see, Jose was a drug addict. But before that, he was at the top of his class. He was a valedictorian since grade one, a student leader, and belonged to a family of achievers. It was said that when he was in college, he was unknowingly and consistently drugged by one of his fellow students. He got addicted without meaning to. His family brought him to various drug treatment centers, to no avail. Now all he does is walk, walk and walk.
Maybe he enjoys traveling. I sure hope so.
