Whoever said that trampolines are just for kids, most likely do not know the fitness and health benefits of this equipment. Yep, trampolines are not just for kids; they’re for fitness minded adults as well.

With as little as five (5) minutes a day, you will reap health benefits from rebounding on even just a mini-trampoline. In fact, the art of bouncing or rebounding on an unstable surface, according to some studies, “[sic] has long been recognized as an excellent source of cardiovascular exercise.” To cap it off, bouncing is not only more gentle on your joints and the musculoskeletal system compared to running, it is also known to improve sleep, reduce tension, and increase strength and endurance.

Below are some of the health and fitness benefits of bouncing, rebounding, and the use of trampolines:

  • Rebounding exercises on mini trampolines strengthens and tones all body systems.
  • It reduces your body fat.
  • It firms your arms, legs, thighs, abdomen, and hips.
  • Rebounding helps increase your agility.
  • It provides an aerobic effect for your cardiopulmonary systems.
  • Rebounding helps overcome depression and negativity.
  • It can rejuvenate your body when it is tired, and generally puts you in a state of mental and physical wellness.

Trampolines are a wonderful thing. They are not mere toys, and using it for rebounding exercise will definitely help you get the most out of life.

I’m one of those obsessive compulsive people who have been dubbed as “girl scout” by my family and officemates. You see, I’m always prepared.

First aid kit, pepper spray, rechargeable flashlight, pen, mini notebook… you name it, I have them not only on my travelling bag, but my everyday bag as well – all in miniature of course to make sure that my bag is not that bulky. Some people think I’m over reacting with this stuff, but if they experienced all those mishaps I encountered, they would be thankful that they brought with them those stuffs.

Prevention is better than cure, but bringing the “cure” with you is WAY better than waiting for the cure, don’t you agree?

the most wanted medal

My aunt Claire joined the Marian pilgrimage in Fatima, Portugal. Prior to her departure, when her youngest daughter, Frances came to know about it, she repeatedly requested her mother not to forget to bring home the religious jewelry she has been dreaming, the Our Lady of Fatima Medal.

Frances in her younger years had read several times the stories about the series of Marian apparitions in Fatima, Portugal to the three young children, Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco. Since then, Frances has been wishing to have the medal of Our Lady of Fatima bought from Portugal.

The long wait has ended; Frances had teary eyes when her mother upon her arrival handed to her the jewelry she had been waiting for.

Money, money, money…

I have an uncle who works as an accountant at a beer company. Recently, I asked him if he knows an accountant who’s on call twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. This is so that I won’t have to worry about my finances even while I’m on a trip at some faraway country.

He said he could be my consultant, though I suggested that he give me accounting lessons instead. After all, I am fairly good with numbers and can easily follow instructions. With the cost of accounting services nowadays, I think learning to do the math myself is a practical option.

Today our general manager announced that we would have a week-long planning workshop. Since they got a big budget for the said activity, they decided on London as venue. Our department head reminded us that as much as possible, we should have a travel insurance ready. My officemate said she has a travel health insurance, which makes me wonder if it is the same thing. I remember her saying that her insurance keeps her protected in case she gets sick or has some grave medical condition while traveling.

For me, I think I’ll just get insured if I’ll be traveling abroad. Then I won’t have to worry too much about getting medical attention and paying for medical bills in such unfamiliar surroundings.

I have been extremely busy with my job this week, add that to majority of my friends having love problems (yep, love problems on valentine’s month) and asking me, who never had a boyfriend, for consultation. My general advice though for those who just went out of a relationship is to have a TOA – transfer of affection.

TOA can be in terms of a new prospect, a diversion hobby like hunting for the best coffee makers in town, spending more time with family and friends, or just plain keeping yourself occupied. “Idle hands are the devil’s tools”, and when you’re idle, you tend to worry unnecessarily and reminisce about the past to the point of self destruction.

You need to move on. I’m not saying that every time you have a problem you ought to have a TOA though. The first and best solution of course is to learn from it and move on. But as always, this is easier said than done, so having a TOA is good as temporary relief.

thinking about a new car

I’ve been thinking about saving up to buy myself a brand new car. Of course, nothing beats the fun of having the means to go wherever I want and whenever I want. Also, traveling by public transportation is quite stressful and dangerous. I’ve heard so many stories of people who experienced robberies and harassments while in public buses and trains. Which is why the idea of getting a car is becoming more appealing by the minute.

However, I still have to consider the price I would have to pay for maintaining a car. That includes the usual fuel expenses, car-cleaning and waxing, payments to the mechanic, parking fees, car insurance payments, etc. I’d have to compute how much I have to save (and earn), considering how costly acquiring and maintaining a car is.

One of the best things about traveling is getting to jot down all the experiences you had during your trip. Afterwards, or during bleak moments to cheer you up, you can always read it again and relive the not-so-long-ago exhilarating experience.

It doesn’t matter whether you use Papermate pens and old fashioned, classic diaries to take down notes, or type them in your blog, so long as it serves your purpose – for personal keepsake or for sharing it with others.

happy birthday uncle!

My uncle invited us over to lunch at his home to celebrate his 56th birthday. Most of our relatives came to the celebration, so it was kind of like a reunion. It was nice seeing again my uncle, his family and all our other relatives.

We asked uncle what gift he would like for his birthday, and he said that he really has everything except for a plasma cutting system. He really likes welding and having the latest welding tools. We told him we’ll get him one on his next birthday. He said that it’s okay, but I doubt he’ll wait that long. Knowing my uncle and his being impatient, I think he’ll just buy one for himself than wait that long.

I recently encountered one of my sister’s friends who’s an antique collector. His collections are mainly comprised of sculpture and paintings. He gave us a tour at his house and I was amazed at the pieces he has displayed which obviously came from various parts of the globe.

He attested to the fact that he bought a lot of his collections from his trips around the world. This is quite fascinating considering that shipping IS expensive. I should know because I regularly send birthday gifts to my friends abroad. Anyhow, I asked why he bother to buy expensive, delicate pieces outside the country when shipping and Fine Art Storage would definitely cost a lot. He chuckled and said, fine art is priceless. The fact that he was able to purchase it was already a blessing. He furthered that shipping and storage was not really that much of a problem for him especially since there are great services like the ones offered by http://www.imaginemindseye.com.

I wasn’t familiar with that site, so I immediately searched the net as soon as I got home. As expected, that company really does offer great services for fine art shipping, storing, or displaying. To cap it off, their service can definitely be considered the finest because of their customized “build-to-suit” approach ensuring that their service meets your needs and budget.

Well, should I decide to collect some fine art pieces myself, I’ll definitely avail of their service.
